We thought a tribute to the Isuzu N-Series (Elf) from 1984 would be appropriate. Here’s a cool old picture of a 1984 Isuzu Elf (N-series) truck. Then known as the 4th generation Elf, double cab, wide body. They were great then and they’re still great today! We also included the Isuzu 30th anniversary logo.

Isuzu Elf 2nd Generation added to the Isuzu lineup in 1967

Isuzu introduced it’s 2nd generation Isuzu Elf in 1967

Isuzu continued it’s upward trend adding the “Light Elf” model Isuzu in August of 1967. The somewhat lighter version of the original Elf offered a 2,800 lb. payload capacity (1.25 tons).

Isuzu Commercial Truck History

Isuzu Commercial Trucks roots began in 1893

We found this interesting information about the history of Isuzu trucks.

The history if Isuzu dates back all the way to 1893 to the earlier company known as, Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd., Later, in 1916, the shipbuilding company would transform into automobile manufacturing. using the money gained from its Tokyo Ishikawajima business (Isuzu’s founding year). In 1918, Isuzu and the British car manufacturer, Wolseley Motor Ltd. began working together and in the year of 1922, Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering made the first automobile ever made in Japan. Shortly afterward, a truck followed in 1924 and Isuzu made the first Japanese-built Wolseley CP 1.5-ton payload truck. It was produced for use as a military truck for the Japanese government.
